OFFICIAL RULES

• The art contest will begin on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at 8 a.m. (CT) and end on Monday, May 22nd, 2023 at 5 p.m. (CT).

• Artwork must be submitted on an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper and must be two-dimensional, using any of the following: watercolor, acrylic or oil paints, colored pencil, colored markers, ink, charcoal, pastels, and crayons. Collages, computer-generated artwork, photography, or photocopies will not be accepted.

• Art contest submissions must be submitted in-person at the Landa Library Front Desk. The library is located at 233 Bushnell Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78212. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver when submitting their artwork. NOTE: All artwork must have the official artwork form completed and attached to the back of the artwork to be eligible for the contest — click here to download the official submission form. Forms will also be available at the Landa Library Front Desk.

• Each child may submit only one design.

• One winner will be chosen from each of the following age categories- ages 4-6, ages 7-9, and ages 10-12.

• Each winner will receive the prize package mentioned above. Winners will also have the opportunity to receive their prize on-stage at Landa’s Valero Pavilion on May 27th, following our May Month “Storytime Tea” party event.

• Winners will be notified by email or phone on or about May 25, 2023. Winners will have seven (7) days to claim their prize. If a winner cannot be reached or does not respond within the specified time, an alternate winner may be selected. 

• Entries will be judged based on 65% creativity and 35% originality by a qualified judge. In the event of a tie, both entrants will receive the same prize. Records will be maintained for two years in accordance with Texas law. Inappropriate content or plagiarism will result in disqualification. Entries must be original and not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks. Contestants must be under 13 years of age and must have parental or guardian consent to enter. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who violates the rules or acts unfairly. By entering, contestants agree to all rules and any additional rules that may be announced.
